"Being able to have all of our TX loan originators in one class for the 20 hour training was great. The instructor did a great job with the training and answering the many questions our loan originators had. Great job TMBA!!"

Since 1917, Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA) has played an active role in educating our members and those in the residential mortgage industry. The Texas mortgage banking community have turned to Texas Mortgage Bankers Association for its leadership in industry education, legislative initiatives and peer interaction. Today, TMBA's purpose is still to serve the mutual interests of its members in order to preserve, enhance and advance the mortgage banking and real estate finance business in the state of Texas.
TMBA is taking a significantly large role in working with our regulators and all mortgage lenders to ensure the continued strength of our residential real estate markets. We plan to assume the lead in providing lenders with their pre-licensing education requirements under the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act signed into law this year. TMBA is also working to develop and provide approved licensing continuing education programs in the near future.
TMBA is one of the largest mortgage lending association in the nation, we are in the best position to manage this endeavor. Our members originate more than $35 billion annually and our membership represents those who promote fair and ethical lending practices.
The deadline for transitioning current mortgage broker entity and individual mortgage broker and loan officer Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending (TX SML) licenses to the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is August 31, 2010. Beginning September 1, 2010, any request for a license made through the NMLS will be considered a new license request. NO EXCEPTIONS will be considered. [more]
